Imagine 3,200 passionate Western Australian paddlers rafting up together in a mass of amazing colour on the Swan River to break a Guinness World Record.
The largest raft of canoes, kayaks and skis consists of 3,150 craft and was achieved by One Square Mile of Hope in Inlet, New York, USA, on 13 September 2014.
We have achieved the Australian record for the largest raft-up (335) and with your help we can improve on this.
The 2018 focus is CRAFT NUMBERS.
It’s a Sunday morning paddle with CRAFT counting starting at 8.30am and moving into a massive paddle gathering between the Windan Bridge and the Matagarup Bridge and in front the Optus Stadium. Its your chance to be part of this first massive paddle gathering in this iconic location.
This world record attempt will once again capture the spirit, enthusiasm and fun of paddling in beautiful Western Australia. Who better than outdoor loving WA paddlers, competitive and recreational alike, to step up to the plate to attempt to break this world record?
Access to the raft will be available through two counting zones surrounding the designated raft location. Experienced volunteers and guides will be on hand with any questions you may have at the counting zones. This day will also be a chance to have a chat with old friends, make new ones, and take in sensational views from a very special perspective.
When everyone has rafted up, you will be featured in an amazing drone photo organised by our event partners SkyworksWA
If you have a paddle craft and are based in WA, take the opportunity to make history.
